During the past six months, I traveled to Utah four times. Once for skiing, twice for work, and most recently for an epic vacation with my husband Jack, parents Cindy and Joe, sister April, nephew J, sister Sunny, brother-in-law Jimmy, and niece MJ.
I never expected to spend so much time in Utah, but have grown very fond of the Beehive state. During the first three visits, whether speaking with coworkers during a break from meetings in Salt Lake City, or chatting with residents about the lack of powder in Park City, almost everyone without fail would say something like: “Why haven’t you been to Southern Utah? Southern Utah is magical. Zion National Park is incredible. You will love Southern Utah.”
Park City is beautiful, and I adore hanging out at Canyons. Salt Lake City has a gorgeous blue sky and mountain backdrop, and friendly colleagues. But yes, Southern Utah is something else. The fourth trip was Amazing. The scenery was truly stunning. The starry night sky was astonishing. The landscape was unlike anything I had seen before, and I loved being there to enjoy it with my family.
We had a great time and I’m sure all of us will be posting stories soon!
What are your summer travel plans? Even if you have a stack of work to complete before you leave and waiting for you when you get back, my opinion is it’s still worth it to GO. Use those vacation days. Spend time with those you love. Consider a new destination – or go back for a second – or fourth – or umpteenth look. Wishing you good surprises, wherever you roam.
