This summer, I noticed there were certain items of clothing that I reached for nearly every weekend. Putting together outfits can be creative and fun, but sometimes it’s nice to have a seasonal uniform/capsule wardobe that you don’t spend too much time and energy thinking about. Could be a leftover habit from my Catholic school days.
My standout stars this summer were:
1) Denim skirt with a variety of shirts. I paired the skirt with button-up blouses, t-shirts, or flowey sleeveless tops I bought on sale for about $5 each from Old Navy. It doesn’t get any easier than this.
2) $15 sundress from Old Navy. While I wore it less than the denim skirt, I was surprised by how much I liked this ultra-bargain dress. I’m sure it will be a staple in future summers. Nice one, Old Navy.
3) Simple print cotton skirt with variety of tops. Bonus if the shirts also work with the denim skirt or sundress.
All of the above can be worn with flat sandals, wedge heels, ballet flats or Converse. Dress the outfits up with jewelry or don’t bother because it’s just too hot out to care.
Add a bathing suit to the photo at the top of the post and you essentially have my weekend beach trip packing strategy.
What are your summer weekend wardrobe go-tos?
