When you love to travel, you learn to love airports. I’ve offered suggestions on how to spend quality time in an airport in a previous post, and told you all about a beautiful vending machine in another. During a recent trip, I spotted a few additional alternatives for those of us cultivating the art of cheerfully waiting around for a flight.
Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport is one of my favorites. It’s usually pretty orderly and clean. It has a Silver Diner. They also have an indoor Cardio Trail through terminals. Look for the clearly marked signs.
Pretty cool idea, but on this particular trip we chose to hang out at the Firkin & Flyer Pub and dream about going to London again.
Speaking of fitness, Chicago Midway International (MDW) Airport now has a yoga room where you can stretch your muscles before or after folding yourself into that cramped seat in coach.
Nearby, you can continue meditating in the airport chapel. I would totally take advantage of the 30 minute Mass if I were flying somewhere on a weekend.
However, our layover on a Monday evening consisted of dinner from Manny’s Deli. The delicious sandwiches and amazing potato pancake was surely good for the mind, body and spirit before flying home. Midway can be hectic, but we did find a fairly quiet space down the hall and around the corner from the yoga room and chapel where we could eat and recharge our phones.
Have you seen any new airport amenities on your travels lately?
