One of my favorite work trips this summer was to St. Louis. Sure, the meetings I attended were interesting . . . but I was also able to meet Dad and my brother in law Jimmy for a baseball game!
Longtime Cardinals fans Dad and Jimmy arrived in St. Louis in time to catch a Tuesday evening game. After work wrapped up on Wednesday, I took a taxi to meet them downtown.
First on the agenda: catching up while unwinding with a drink or two.
We walked to the game, stopping at the St. Louis Arch, of course! The weather was warm but after the previous night’s downpour, we were happy to see the bright sun.
The guys showed me around Ballpark Village and Busch Stadium – which is a beautiful park. The crowd’s energy was high and definitely cancelled out any tiredness from working all day. Dad and Jimmy gave me the lowdown on some of their favorite players.
We had AMAZING seats – thank you Dad! It was nice having access to the Dugout club, with shorter lines for drinks and bathrooms, and refreshing air conditioning! Jimmy directed me to one of his favorite ballpark dinner choices: the bacon wrapped hot dog. Good call, Jimmy.
The Cards didn’t win, but it was such a fun evening – kind of like a mini vacation from a busy and stressful work week. I’m glad we synched up our travel schedules to meet in St. Louis. Cheers to Dad and Jimmy!
