January is the anniversary of the Looks and Leaps blog project. Thanks go to family members who write and edit posts, and to readers (who are probably for the most part these same family members). Thanks to everyone who has offered a kind word of encouragement on or offline.
I read that fruit and flowers are traditional presents for the fourth anniversary, so I’ve pulled together photos on this theme from previous years of travel. Many of these were taken by family members, who I also thank for their superior photography skills. The top one depicts flowers outside a pub in London, where I wish we could gather to toast travel stories and travel with family and another year of both.
This photo shows off the fruit selection inside an Iceland supermarket, taken during a road trip with Jack and my parents.
Above are beautiful flowers from a summer trip to Outer Banks with the whole fam. Below is a similar shade of flower from our family trip to Utah last Spring.
These inflatable grapes festively adorned a building in Madrid, one of my all time favorite cities.
Jack and I walked for hours in Copenhagen along streets like the one above.
How could I not include the fruit atop the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, one of the most spectacular (and still unfinished) structures in the world?
Above, produce at a market in Italy, followed by a garden in Paris.
And finally, an elegant sangria presentation from the bar at Joselito in Washington DC.
