Remember the game “versus” that April highlighted in her recent Enjoy the Journey post?  (If you haven’t read it yet, click here!) For a die-hard Disney fan the ultimate versus lies in this quandary: Disneyland or Walt Disney World?

I am going to give you my list of why both are great as well as tips and suggestions for visiting each resort.

Showing my Disney Side – Snow White

Please welcome my guest Disney Side blogger: my mom, Cindy!  She has an inspiring Disney Side story and outfit to share with you.  Enjoy! ~Sunny

Well, when I was little, there were only three Disney princesses I remember: Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora.  I didn’t have long blonde hair like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, but I could relate to Snow White’s short dark hair.  So I have stuck with her all these years as my favorite Disney princess. Another thing I have in common with Snow White is that I have found my prince and have lived happily ever after! Continue reading

The Sword in the Stone: a great photo opportunity that is usually not so crowded.

So much of the Disney magic is right out in the open waiting to be enjoyed by the massive crowds each year.  There are a few hidden gems that I like to keep in my back pocket for times of meltdown (probably will happen) and exhaustion (definitely will happen).  These little spots will give you a much needed break and leave you refreshed for more fun!

Showing My Disney Side – Minnie Mouse

A while ago, I was in Kohl’s when a promotional sign for the new live-action Cinderella movie caught my eye. Being the Disney fan that I am, I walked over to the display rack and mannequins and was surprised to find juniors dresses inspired by the new feature film. Juniors? I thought. Would teenage girls actually wear Cinderella-inspired clothing? Turns out they will. The racks were swarming with people. When I got home, I went to the Kohl’s website and noticed a whole line of Cinderella-inspired dresses, skirts and tops for women by designer Lauren Conrad. Continue reading

Disney Dining

The infamous Mickey waffle!

The infamous Mickey waffle!

While in Disney, my daughter is not one for sitting down to a meal when there are characters to meet, shows to see, and rides to tackle.  On her 4-year-old trip, we were wearing down at around 6pm having gone nonstop since our quick-service breakfast at the resort that morning.  Our party of 5 started heading to the nearest restaurant when my daughter inquired as to where we were going.  “To dinner,” I responded.  She scoffed in return, “But we already ate breakfast today!”  See what I mean? She would be more than happy to just eat Mickey-shaped ice cream on a stick while waiting in line as opposed to sitting down with the fear of missing out. On our trip earlier this month, we decided that it was time to branch out and experience the variety of dining options that Disney has to offer.  We were pleasantly surprised, and it even won over our little princess… Continue reading

Why Disney?

by Sunny
I’m not going to lie to you. I’m 32 years old, and even if I didn’t have a 5-year-old, princess -obsessed daughter, I would still plan yearly trips to a Disney Park. I love it. I’ve always loved it. Since my first visit at the age of 11, I have had a passion for the Parks. And I’m not alone. I am in the company of millions of other Disney pilgrims who make the trek to California or Florida each year to experience the magic.
So what’s the big deal? For those who have never been, it’s hard to explain. Why do millions of visitors make it one of the most popular vacation destinations in the US each year? Here are five of my favorite reasons I am a repeat visitor of Disney World. Continue reading
