I am just back from visiting Iceland with Jack and my parents. It was amazing and we look forward to sharing many stories on the blog. Right now, I think we’re all still in the midst of jet lag, unpacking, organizing, and getting back into the work routine – but I keep stopping to look at photos, jot down a few notes and feel grateful for such an epic vacation.
The scenery on our road trip was nothing less than stunning. I truly enjoyed driving through the strange topography, staying in what felt like remote areas, and sometimes passing more sheep and horses than people. I loved going to the different parks, walking in the fresh air, wearing my hiking shoes almost constantly, and listening to the quiet at night. My appreciation of the great outdoors continues to grow, as well as my interest in traveling to other places with such unique natural beauty. There will be lots of posts about this aspect of our journey, don’t worry.
But first, a couple of snapshots of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. You know I am a city girl at heart! And usually a night owl.
I did enjoy quite a few early mornings, including a 3:45 am wake-up call to catch a flight to London. Yes! We went back to one of my all-time favorite destinations, so there will be more posts ahead about England too. In the meantime, a photo of my beloved London at night.
Hope you are having a brilliant September!
